Every sailor we know has a drawer of kit they bought at full price and a second drawer of kit they bought because it was reduced and the size was right. This page feeds the second drawer. It is where we put last season's colours, ranges a brand has replaced, and the odd sizes left when the rest have sold through.

Nothing here is seconds or returns. It is the same stock that was on the main pages a month ago, at a lower price because we would rather it went sailing than sat on a shelf. Our advice: if your size is there, buy it, since once a clearance size goes it does not come back. Everything still gets the same 90 day returns and same day dispatch as the rest of the site. If nothing fits today, our wetsuits and boots pages are where most of these pieces started.

Clearance FAQs

Why is this kit reduced?

Usually one of three reasons. A brand has brought out a new version and we are clearing the old one, a colour has been dropped for the season, or we are down to the last few sizes and want the space. None of it is faulty, used or returned stock. It is the same kit that sat on the main collection pages, in the same packaging, with a lower price.

Can I return clearance items?

Yes, the same 90 day returns apply as for everything else we sell. If the size is wrong or it is not what you expected, send it back unworn with the tags on and we will refund it. The only thing to bear in mind is that we probably cannot swap it for another size, because the reason it is on clearance is often that the other sizes have gone.

Will my size come back into stock?

Almost never. Clearance is where kit goes when we are not reordering it, so once a size sells it is gone. If your size is showing, that is the moment to buy. If it is not, check the main collection page for that type of kit, where the current version will be in a full size run.

Is clearance kit any good?

It is the same kit we were recommending at full price a few months ago. A wetsuit from last year's range keeps you just as warm as this year's, and a pair of boots in a discontinued colour grips the deck exactly the same. Brands change ranges on a cycle, not because the old kit stopped working. We would happily sail in any of it ourselves.

How quickly will a clearance order arrive?

Same as any other order. Everything on this page is in stock in our warehouse, so order by 2pm Monday to Friday and it leaves the same day. Orders over £100 get free delivery, which clearance kit counts towards, so a reduced wetsuit and a pair of boots together usually qualify.
